KAIHOAHOA WHENUA | Landscape Architect
Kaiaho | Graduate
I bring a thoughtful and grounded approach to every stage of the design process, embracing innovative solutions to emergent challenges, driven by a commitment to creating spaces where people and ecological communities can thrive together in mutual benefit.
My professional experience in Aotearoa New Zealand spans master planning, trail feasibility studies, and regenerative design. Each project has helped me refine my skills and deepen my understanding of our unique ecological and cultural landscapes, building on my foundational training as a landscape architect in Oregon, USA. At Boffa Miskell, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to address challenges such as flood adaptation, ambitious open space planning, and the development of graphic resources for clear and meaningful engagement. These experiences continue to strengthen my ability to design—from concept through to construction documentation—responsive to our dynamic landscapes and delivering creative outcomes that are inclusive, resilient, and locally responsive.
When I am not refining planting palettes or navigating the intricacies of resource consents, you may find me out on Ōtepoti Dunedin trails and beaches or wrangling a particularly unruly corner of my garden
