Kaitohu Whakauru Hapori | Engagement Coordinator
Business Services
My background is at the think tank Koi Tū: The Centre for Informed Futures at the University of Auckland. I have experience engaging with the public across different projects nationwide, in particular, using new forms of engagement and bringing deliberative processes. An example of this work was the Watercare Citizens' Assembly in 2022. I have also undertaken interviews with rangatahi across Aotearoa to inform decisions about youth mental health provision.
I will be assisting the growth of the engagement team at Boffa Miskell and bringing experience of public engagement and novel ways of engaging. My original degree was geography, which provides me with a strong understanding of the relationship between people, place and the thinking that informs work across Boffa Miskell’s disciplines.
I believe that a people-first approach and geography-based mindset can help us have difficult conversations with the goal of equitable and useful outcomes. I always want to learn more about integrating democracy, policy, decision-making, and public engagement.
