The development of these Structure Plans was informed by background reports and technical assessments previously commissioned by Council and updated technical assessments completed by Tonkin & Taylor. These inputs included high-level assessments of three waters infrastructure, transportation, and geotechnical matters.
Boffa Miskell assisted the Council with extensive stakeholder engagement to inform the development of the spatial plans and incorporate feedback into the structure plans and concept plan respectively.
Our role was the development of detailed spatial plans, including consultation with the wider community and stakeholders. This culminated in Council endorsed Structure Plans for the T6 and T11 growth cells in Te Awamutu and a Concept Plan for the Ngahinapouri village.
The Ngahinapouri Village Concept Plan was developed through an iterative design approach, underpinned by the growth management functions of the Council and needs and aspirations of the Ngahinapouri Community. Waipa 2050 identifies a strong vision around matters relating to urban and rural living, employment, multi-modal transport and pedestrian movement, infrastructure and protection of the environment. This Concept Plan builds upon the Waipa 2050 vision and seeks to provide a framework for how Ngahinapouri may contribute to achieving the Waipa 2050 vision through sustainable future growth.
