2024 Associate Partners

Stephanie Styles possesses an extensive understanding of various statutory and spatial planning aspects, with a particular emphasis on resolving complex planning issues. She has considerable involvement in the administration and preparation of regional and district plans from both a policy and consenting perspective. She is skilled at understanding the implementation of plans and solution-focused in developing policy, and preparation and processing of documents for resource consents including assessments of effects on the environment reports.

Scott Hooson is an expert terrestrial ecologist with extensive experience in leading and participating in various challenging and complex projects throughout the South Island. He specialises in the survey and assessment of terrestrial and wetland ecological values and the preparation of Ecological Impact Assessment reports for complex projects, including infrastructure reports in sensitive environments. His project work also involves the preparation of ecological management plans, advising on restoration projects and GIS mapping and analysis.

2024 Partners

Dr Ian Boothroyd has well over three decades' experience in ecology: assessing and reviewing the environmental effects of small to large developments ranging from energy generation activities, extractive mining, roading, stormwater and sediment effects in urban and peri-urban subdivisions, and the effects of the discharge of treated wastewater to water. He has prepared Integrated Catchment Management Plans, carried out extensive ecological surveys and provided resource management advice to national, regional and local governments, SOEs, private businesses and community groups. He has extensive knowledge of environmental practice in New Zealand and is familiar with environmental protocols, criteria and performance standards. Ian maintains a focus on project purpose and attaining acceptable environmental outcomes.

Jane Rennie works collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams on a range of often complex projects, with a focus on understanding the key influences to deliver more liveable and people-centric towns and cities. Her expertise spans from strategic planning for cities and towns to detailed site planning. Through her involvement in integrated spatial projects, master planning, and public transport and land use integration Business Cases, she has led teams formulating options through an MCA process which seek to weave together urban growth, place-based enhancements and improved accessibility and liveability outcomes.

Marcus Girvan is an experienced project manager who thrives when managing complex ecological restoration projects in highly sensitive environments. He specialises in biosecurity and is passionate about managing pests and weeds that are having a detrimental impact on our indigenous species, our outstanding natural landscapes, our cultural and recreational values and the economic potential of our country. Marcus possesses strong skills in people and contract management, which include the design of fit-for-purpose contracts, effective engagement and management of a skilled contractor workforce, and a working knowledge of relevant legislation to manage project risks.

Nick Pollard is a planner, urban designer and project manager with extensive experience on a wide variety of projects at various scales. He has experience with local government, central government and with private clients including plan and policy development, resource consents, designations and outline plans and design review. With a strong background in policy and plan formulation and evaluation, he boasts a versatile skill set that enables him to navigate complex projects, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and thrive in contested environments. He is passionate about delivering good environmental outcomes.
