Welcoming the 2022 Partners and Associate Partners

Consultants in Biosecurity, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture are named Partners and Associate Partners for 2022.

Yoko Tanaka first joined Boffa Miskell in 2006; and after a four-year stint in London, returned in 2013. Having trained in both Landscape and Building Architecture, Yoko is passionate about creating responsive and integrated environments that blend the essence of these two disciplines. The Ōtāhuhu Town Centre Streetscape Upgrade is a recent example of her project work.

Dr Helen Blackie has developed comprehensive plans and recommendations for the control and monitoring of animal and plant pests for a range of clients since joining the company in 2014. She also leads projects which are focused on biosecurity surveillance and the integration of new automated, technologies. Her innovations have been awarded development funding by Predator Free 2050 Ltd (PF2050).

2022 Partners

Tim Church joined the company in 2016, and works out of the Queenstown office. An urban designer with a background in landscape architecture, Tim has been project lead on a number of master plans and spatial plans, including the Milford Opportunities Masterplan and the Mackenzie Spatial Plans.

Mark Lewis has been an Auckland-based landscape architect since 2004. Based in our Auckland office, he has a strong reputation both internally and externally for water sensitive design, bioengineering, catchment management, and ecological restoration. Mark was the project lead for the multi-award-winning Te Auaunga/Oakley Creek.

Morné Hugo is also based in Tauranga; he is a landscape architect who joined the company in 2007. His experience ranges from subdivision design, master planning of housing developments, urban design and detailed design of public and private realm projects.

Rebecca Ryder joined the company in 2001 and is a landscape architect based in our Tauranga office. She has a strong background in landscape planning and landscape design along with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment. Highly skilled in consultation and community engagement, her recent project work includes the Waikato District Landscape Study.

Partners and Associate Partners play a leading role in the sustainability, growth and development of the company as trusted advisors to our clients. In addition to their consultancy roles, they contribute to setting the overall company direction with the Board and confirming key appointments and promotions.
